Dakota Pheasant Hunts
Our upland bird hunts are based on the number of birds
harvested in a day’s time. Most clients wish
to pheasant hunt with the daily limit of three roosters.
Using this as a base line, hunters can opt for a five
bird, eight bird, or eleven bird hunt. These upland
hunts include the following additional species, Prairie
chicken, sharp tail grouse, partridge, and bob white
quail. If dove or waterfowl seasons are open and the
proper licenses have been obtained, these birds can
be hunted at no extra charge and are not counted against
the daily hunt limit. For example, six waterfowl are
taken on a morning hunt; three roosters can still
be taken later that day on a three bird upland hunt.

| To
explain further, on any particular hunt when the prescribed
number of birds are harvested, the hunt is over for that
day. For example on a five bird hunt, a hunter harvests
three roosters, one prairie chicken, and one partridge,
the hunt is ended. This gives our clients the opportunity
to harvest other species while primarily hunting pheasant. |

Our
hunt prices are for three days hunting, four nights
lodging, meals, shells, guides, dogs, bird cleaning
and field transportation. Licenses and gratuities
are the responsibility of the client. |

FREE Hunting Opportunities for You
Forester Ranches are blessed with an abundance
of deer, both mule deer and whitetail, along with
Merriam and Eastern wild turkey. Again, if the
proper licenses are obtained, these species can
be pursued at no additional charge. Understanding
of course, time spent pursuing big game takes
away from time spent pursuing upland birds. Where
else but at Forester Ranches can a hunter pursue
both big game and birds at an upland hunt price!
